If you've spent any time searching for unique things to do in London, chances are you've come across Fever. Last week, I found myself doing exactly that as I headed to Tarot Card Sessions: A Mystical Show of Cards & Cocktails. I arrived with very little knowledge of what to expect - and, looking back, I think that's exactly how this experience should be enjoyed.
Before I even stepped inside, I have to take a moment to appreciate the setting itself. Located in the heart of London Bridge, the venue is perfectly positioned within one of London's most characterful neighbourhoods. Whether you arrive early to wander through Borough Market, enjoy dinner overlooking the Thames or stay afterwards for a drink, there's no shortage of things to do, making the event feel like part of a much bigger evening out.
Running from 6:30pm until 8pm, the experience unfolded over 90 minutes that were filled with laughter, intrigue and plenty of surprises. Having never had my tarot cards read before, I approached the evening with a mixture of curiosity and scepticism. If I'm being honest, I’d always been a bit nervous about what the cards might say, so I’d never really worked up the nerve to try it before.
Upon arrival, we were welcomed by the wonderfully friendly Fever team before being invited to choose a red envelope - simply selecting whichever one we felt most drawn towards. Alongside the envelope came a beautifully presented cocktail, with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic options available.
We were then guided into a dimly lit room centred around a stage where the evening's readings would take place. The tarot reader was, without doubt, the highlight of the evening. Mysterious, charismatic and incredibly engaging. Even those who arrived as sceptics quickly found themselves captivated, leaning in to hear each interpretation unfold. Rather than feeling overly serious or intimidating, the evening became an entertaining exploration of symbolism, personality and possibility, with plenty of moments that had the audience laughing together.
What I particularly enjoyed was that the experience never demanded belief. Whether you're deeply interested in tarot or simply curious to see what it's all about, there's something enjoyable about allowing yourself to be immersed in the theatre of it all. The combination of carefully crafted cocktails, atmospheric surroundings and engaging performance created an evening that felt completely different from a typical night out in London.
Fever has become known for creating experiences that encourage participation rather than observation, and this event was no exception. It's less about predicting the future and more about embracing curiosity, conversation and stepping into this world of experience.
