There are certain brands that seem to arrive at exactly the right moment.
As we were putting together our Autumn Equinox evening at Bowland House, I wanted every element of the experience to feel considered. Not simply beautiful, but connected to the bigger conversation we are beginning to have around wellness, movement, longevity and taking greater ownership of how we feel.

And that is how Sleepy Sloth became part of the evening.
For those who haven’t discovered the brand yet, Sleepy Sloth is a British activewear brand built around the philosophy Wear With Purpose. It is an ethos that immediately resonated with me, because increasingly I think the things we choose to wear, eat, use and surround ourselves with should have a reason for being there.
An Autumn Equinox at Bowland House
On Sunday 20 September, we welcomed guests to Bowland House in the heart of the Forest of Bowland for our Autumn Equinox celebration, created alongside The Yoga Social Club and with Porsche joining us for the evening.

September has always been incredibly significant to me.
I have always viewed it as something of a second New Year: a moment to reset, recalibrate and decide how you want to approach the months ahead. The Autumn Equinox felt like the perfect opportunity to translate that philosophy into an experience.
As daylight disappeared, the room was illuminated by hundreds of candles. Guests took their places for a beautiful Vinyasa practice led by Chrissie Whittingham, founder of The Yoga Social Club, accompanied by the extraordinary sound of a live string quartet.

It was one of those evenings where everything seemed to come together: movement, music, scent, candlelight, conversation and community.
And Sleepy Sloth became part of that story.
Discovering Sleepy Sloth
What I loved about Sleepy Sloth from the outset was that there was a philosophy behind the product.

Yes, activewear has to look good. I come from fashion, so naturally that matters to me. But increasingly, particularly when it comes to wellness, I am interested in brands that combine aesthetics with performance and purpose.
Sleepy Sloth talks about activewear as something designed for movement, wellbeing and a more intentional way of living.
That idea of Wear With Purpose feels particularly relevant to where we are going with Bowland House.
Wellness shouldn't simply be something we book for a weekend or squeeze into an hour when life allows. I think it needs to become part of the everyday: how we move, how we eat, how we sleep, how we hydrate and ultimately how we look after ourselves.
Sleepy Sloth in Motion
One of my favourite things about the collaboration was seeing the pieces actually being worn during the evening rather than simply displayed.

Chrissie led the Vinyasa session wearing Sleepy Sloth’s Flow State in Midnight Blue, and watching her move in it really demonstrated what good activewear should do.
It shouldn't distract you. It should move with you.
Sleepy Sloth also very kindly gifted looks for the evening.
Singer and actress Chanel Zinyemba wore the Cloud Fit in Powder Pink, while Tallulah Wren, who works within the Formula One industry as well as in styling, wore the Power-Fit set.

Three women, three very different looks and three different ways of wearing the brand.
And perhaps that is what I liked most.
This didn't feel like activewear designed solely for the gym. The pieces sit somewhere between performance, wellness and lifestyle, which is increasingly how so many of us actually dress.
Where Fashion Meets Wellness
I have spent most of my career working in fashion and luxury, but I find myself becoming increasingly fascinated by the intersection between fashion and wellness.
The two worlds are becoming inseparable.

What we wear affects how we move. How we move affects how we feel. And when something makes you feel confident enough to actually get up, put your trainers on and do the class, there is value in that too.
For me, wellness isn't about perfection.
It is about finding the little things that make looking after yourself easier and more enjoyable.
Sometimes that is a brilliant yoga class. Sometimes it is walking outside. Sometimes it is remembering to hydrate properly. And sometimes it is finding a pair of leggings that make you actually want to move.
The Bowland House Wellness Edit
One of the things I want to do through Voyages & Vanity, and increasingly through Bowland House, is introduce our community to brands that genuinely fit within this evolving conversation around wellness.
Not because something happens to be fashionable, but because we have discovered it, experienced it and think it is worth knowing about.

Sleepy Sloth is one of those discoveries.
The Autumn Equinox evening gave us the opportunity to see the collection exactly where it belongs: not on a hanger or simply photographed for social media, but being worn, stretched, moved and lived in.
That matters.

If you are looking for a new activewear set, I would particularly explore the Flow State, Cloud Fit and Power-Fit collections that were worn at our Autumn Equinox evening.
For me, it is another small piece of the much bigger Bowland House wellness story we are beginning to build.
Movement. Nature. Nourishment. Community. Education. And discovering brilliant brands that can become part of the everyday rituals that make us feel better.

Because wellness shouldn't feel like another thing on the to-do list.
It should simply become part of how we live.
Sleepy Sloth. Wear With Purpose.
