There is something about the run-up to Christmas that makes me want to say yes to everything.
Yes to dressing up. Yes to gathering the girls. Yes to champagne on a school night. And most definitely yes to an evening spent singing along to Chicago while surrounded by sequins, feathers and fabulous people.
Which brings me to The London Cabaret Club.
If you are looking for something a little different to do with friends in the weeks before Christmas, put this one firmly on your list. Because this isn’t simply dinner followed by a show. It is one of those gloriously immersive evenings where you very quickly stop being an audience member and somehow become part of the whole thing.
And that, for me, is where the magic lies.
Dinner, Dancing and a Little Bit of Theatre
From the moment you arrive, there is a wonderful sense of occasion.
Some people had completely embraced the theme, arriving dressed up and ready to perform their own supporting role. Others had simply gone glamorous. Both worked perfectly.
That’s one of the things I loved about it. You can take it as far as you want.
If dressing for the theatre is your idea of heaven, then this is your moment to really go for it. But equally, a fabulous dress, great heels and a little extra glamour are more than enough.
The atmosphere does the rest.
The evening unfolds around you rather than simply happening on a stage in front of you. Performers move through the room, music fills the space and before long the entire evening feels deliciously theatrical.
And Then Came Chicago…
There are certain songs that are almost impossible not to sing along to.
Add your best friends, a room full of people in the mood to have fun and the unmistakable music of Chicago, and any sense of restraint disappears remarkably quickly.
It was brilliant.
Sexy, theatrical, energetic and wonderfully over the top.
There is something incredibly joyful about hearing songs you know and love performed around you rather than simply watching from a distance. You find yourself singing along, laughing, dancing and completely forgetting about everything outside the room.
And perhaps that is exactly what we need more of.
The Perfect Excuse to Dress Up
We talk a lot on Voyages & Vanity about experiences, but I think getting ready is often part of the experience too.
I love an occasion that gives you permission to make an effort.
The London Cabaret Club absolutely does.
Some guests had really committed to the theatrical spirit of the evening, while others had chosen beautiful eveningwear. The result was a room that felt glamorous without feeling intimidating or overly formal.
The official dress code is smart casual or formal, with glamour very much encouraged, so this is absolutely the night to wear the outfit you’ve been saving.
Add the heels.
Do the lipstick.
Because sometimes getting dressed up purely for the fun of it is reason enough.
Why It Works So Well Before Christmas
Christmas dinners are lovely. Drinks are lovely. But sometimes you want something that everyone will actually remember.
This is exactly that.
And this year there is an even better reason to go. Roxie Rocks Chicago runs from 24 September 2026 to 27 March 2027, transforming the experience into a world of jazz-age decadence, glamour, music, choreography and immersive entertainment.
The evening begins at 6pm, with pre-show entertainment from 6.30pm, dinner from 7pm and the main show at 8.30pm. The performance finishes around 10.30pm, but crucially, the night doesn’t have to end there. The after-party begins at 11pm and continues towards 1am.
So rather than booking dinner and then wondering where everyone should go afterwards, the whole evening is taken care of.

There are several different ways to experience the evening depending on how much you want to make of it.
The Silver Experience starts from £52.49 and includes pre-show entertainment, a reserved area for the show and access to the after-show. Food and drinks are not included but can be purchased separately.
For the full dinner experience, I would look at Gold, from £103.99, which currently includes pre-show entertainment, a premium private table, a gourmet three-course menu and after-show access.
Diamond starts from £160.64, adding a reserved VIP table, a welcome drink, canapés on arrival, a VIP three-course menu and after-show access, while the Royal Diamond Experience starts from £206.99 and takes things up another notch with reserved pre-show seating, a welcome drink and canapés, VIP seating, complimentary cloakroom, half a bottle of Moët & Chandon, a VIP three-course menu, petit fours and access to the after-show.

For groups, celebrations and Christmas parties, The London Cabaret Club also offers dedicated group bookings and can arrange block seating so everyone stays together.
My tip: make a proper night of it. Arrive for the pre-show, dress up, book dinner rather than simply coming for the performance and leave enough time afterwards for the after-party. This isn’t really an evening to rush.
Tickets are non-refundable, although bookings can currently be moved to another available date for a fee, so it’s worth making sure everyone is committed before you press book.
