It’s one of those rare places where the surroundings alone feel like part of the luxury experience.
We stayed in The Loft, which was an expansive, beautifully designed room with absolutely everything you need for the perfect weekend away. It felt both luxurious with generous space to relax, thoughtfully chosen furnishings, and all the little details that make a stay feel truly special. It was the ideal sanctuary to return to after a day of spa treatments or exploring the grounds.
The spa deserves special mention. It is designed, serene, and impeccably maintained, offering the perfect environment to completely switch off and unwind. Every treatment felt indulgent and expertly delivered, and the relaxation areas with their peaceful atmosphere and gorgeous views made it very hard to leave.
The expansive hotel itself offers a wonderful variety of dining experiences. There’s a relaxed grill restaurant serving seafood and local beef, which is perfect for a more laid-back yet high-quality meal. In contrast, the more formal dining option delivers a refined, elegant experience ideal for a special evening. Afternoon tea is also available and is an absolute treat! perfectly presented and delicious, making it a lovely way to spend a slow afternoon taking in the views.
And whatever you do, don’t miss out on the cocktail bar. It’s a destination in its own right, with a stylish, atmosphere and expertly crafted cocktails that make it the perfect spot for pre-dinner drinks or a relaxed nightcap.
What truly elevates Amathwaite Hall, however, is the exceptional staff and service. Every member of the team was warm, attentive, and genuinely committed to making my stay perfect. Nothing felt forced or scripted just thoughtful, seamless hospitality delivered with real care and professionalism. From check-in to dining and spa services, everything was handled with grace and efficiency.
