From the moment we turned off the winding country lane and onto the drive of The Everything Retreat, I knew we were in for something special. What I didn’t expect was just how deeply this place would make us feel: rested, and, somehow, reset within 48 hours!
First Impressions: 5★
Arrival feels like a scene from a Nancy Meyers film with soft light, leafy canopies and the scent of woodsmoke already in the air. Rather than a check-in, you’re welcomed as if returning home. Friendly, discreet and wholly intuitive, the team are the kind of hosts who appear right when you need them and disappear when you don’t.
The Lodges: 5★
Each of the twelve lodges has its own personality, meticulously curated rather than simply styled by founder Louise…. Think heavyweight linens, wood-burning stoves, brass, outdoor hot tubs and terraces positioned to soak in sunrise and sunset. We stayed in one of the Signature Lodges and genuinely gasped on entry. It struck that rare, exquisite balance between rustic and refined. Every comfort considered, every texture designed to be touched.
Set within magical Ribble Valley countryside, the retreat is cocooned by woodland and wildflower meadows. You feel miles from reality and for the duration of your stay, you truly are. Birds, breeze and bubbling hot tubs fill the soundtrack. Come night, the sky becomes an ink-black canvas peppered with stars. There is something incredibly grounding and, dare I say, transformative about the energy here.
Breakfast Hampers are delivered to your door bursting with local delights. Breakfasting on our terrace with coffee felt like its own little ritual. For dinner, the team served delicious tapas inspired small plates, sat by the fire! If you prefer to stay tucked away, you can pre-order grazing platters and local wine to enjoy beside your fire at your lodge or with a home made fresh prepared pizza.
This is not a retreat in the overused sense; it truly is a retreat. Phones down, shoulders drop, breaths deepen. Whether you are here to celebrate, reconnect, heal or simply escape, The Everything Retreat manages to meet you exactly where you are. It is rare to find a luxury stay that feels soulful, rarer still to leave feeling subtly changed.
